The Tall Ships Races, Bordeaux Stopover

Port de Bordeaux (Garonne) · July 2027 (one-off stopover)

Bordeaux will host a stopover of The Tall Ships Races from 7 to 11 July 2027, ahead of the race start on 11 July toward La Coruña (Spain) and then Sines (Portugal). According to the stopover's official website, around forty tall ships from around the world will line the Bordeaux quays, carrying some 200 young trainees aged 15 to 25 as part of a maritime training programme. The event is run under the auspices of Sail Training International and includes a parade of sail, ship visits and quayside festivities. A distinctive feature of the 2027 edition is that it is combined with the Bordeaux Fête le Vin wine festival, under the joint banner "Voiles & Vignobles" (Sails & Vineyards).

For FairWinds' yachting professionals, this is a rare, one-time call on the Atlantic coast, closer to maritime heritage and sail training than to the superyacht segment, but one expected to draw hundreds of thousands of visitors to Bordeaux's quays and place heavy demand on the city's hosting capacity and port services that week.
