Designed in 1923 and inaugurated in 1927 as the Cannes Country Club, the Mougins course was founded by Prince Pierre of Monaco, the Aga Khan and Baron Edouard de Rothschild, who chose British architect Harry Colt to lay out the fairways around a 17th-century former oil mill converted into the clubhouse. Occupied by the German army during World War II, the club later closed every summer until 1970 for lack of irrigation. Today a private members' club, it takes privatisation requests directly through its secretariat, with no online ticketing.
