Atelier Gréement

Atelier Gréement is based at the Pôle Nautique, 8 rue Calypso, in Canet-en-Roussillon, and has been serving sailing yachts and catamarans since 2008. The company claims more than fifteen years of rigging experience and works from a 300 sqm workshop, a secured 1,000 sqm hardstanding and a 5 tonne test bench. Work is carried out in the workshop or directly on board.

Standing rigging is surveyed then replaced in wire or textile, including shrouds, turnbuckles and end fittings, with wear inspection. Swaging is done on site, with a permanent stock of monostrand wire and terminals. Running rigging covers the fitting of halyards, control lines and blocks. The team handles stepping and unstepping on the harbour technical area, mast alignment and final tuning, furler servicing and installation, the making and fitting of removable inner forestays, the installation of bowsprits and spinnaker poles, and the sale and fitting of aluminium or carbon masts and booms. Inspection visits combine visual analysis, wear checks and replacement of critical parts.

Ropework covers splices, spliced eyes, whippings and the fitting of technical chafe covers on halyards and sheets, in polyester, Dyneema, Technora and Marlow Ropes lines. The workshop makes and fits custom trampoline nets for cruising, charter and racing catamarans, in polyester, polyamide or technical textile. It also makes guardrails and lifelines, shade sails, and offers dry winter storage on a fenced and monitored site, with cradling, sail racks and monthly visual checks. After an incident it takes care of lifting, transport, haul-out, repairs and the handling of the insurance file with the insurer and the appointed surveyors.

The chandlery offers technical lines in Dyneema, polyester and Vectran, blocks, cleats, clutches, winches, stainless steel fittings, mast and boom equipment, maintenance products and safety gear, with personal advice and a complimentary diagnosis. Brands handled include Sparcraft, Seldén, Navtec, Harken, Antal, Wichard, Profurl, Spinlock, Liros, XPO, VMG Soromap and Marlow, for which the workshop presents itself as the exclusive distributor for the Mediterranean.
