Grassi Bateaux

Grassi Bateaux is based on the Plateau Nautique, rue Sénac de Meilhan in La Rochelle, and has supported owners of sailing yachts and catamarans at every stage of their project since 1997: purchase, customisation, renovation, maintenance, charter and resale. The site brings together 1,200 sq m of shed and 600 sq m of outdoor space, with three hydraulic trailers and a keel pit.

The yard handles hauling out, high-pressure hull cleaning and antifouling application, as well as watchkeeping and storage. Painting, blasting and sanding, gel-coat refurbishment, deck resurfacing, metalwork, welding and aluminium work complete the renovation and refit offer, on polyester, aluminium, steel and wooden hulls. Mechanical servicing covers propeller changes and lower unit oil changes among others. A Liberté contract allows owners to delegate the planning of their boat's annual maintenance.

Preparation, outfitting and customisation form a second strand. The team fits sail handling deck hardware and onboard electronics including radar, autopilot, Maxsea and Iridium, and covers electrical work from power audits to electric winches, solar panels, wind generators and hydrogenerators. Upholstery and sailmaking produce biminis, sprayhoods, lazy bags and interior trim. A dedicated programme prepares racing boats. As a technical sailmaking agent, the yard handles the purchase of new sails together with their maintenance, repairs and modifications. Carpentry and bespoke interior fit-out allow the boat to evolve.

Grassi Bateaux is an agency for Jeanneau Voile and Jeanneau Yachts, Lagoon, J Composites, Zodiac and Bombard, and draws on specialist partnerships in marine electronics and leisure boat mechanics. The company sells new and used boats, runs a Yacht Broker brokerage arm, and offers charter as well as charter management and storage management. The team combines technicians and sailors, some of whom race competitively, and regularly hosts apprentices.
