Incidence Sails is located at 7 rue Alain Colas, in Périgny, on the immediate outskirts of La Rochelle. The site combines a sail production workshop and Incidence Technologies, the group's research, development and membrane production division, created in 2013. The network also includes Brest, Lorient, La Farlède and Canet-en-Roussillon.
The loft covers every programme: cruising and long distance voyaging, racing and fast cruising, offshore racing, regatta and one design, superyachts, classic yachts, cargo vessels and working sailing ships. Sail wardrobes are designed programme by programme, from upwind to downwind sails, with the option of colouring your spinnaker. For offshore racing, profiles and materials are matched to the target calendar, from the Transquadra to Cap Martinique, the Transat Jacques Vabre or the Route du Rhum, with a dedicated team across the season. The site also offers sail servicing, repair, washing, winter storage and inspection, plus lazy bags, sprayhoods and online quotations.
Flat sails come in Dacron Strong Fill developed with Dimension Polyant, DCX polyester laminate, Pro Radial woven polyester, Hydra Net Radial combining polyester and Ultra-PE fibres, and ZZ Ultra PE laminate. Downwind sails use Maxilite and Superkote nylon, Stormlite woven polyester and PXB and CZ laminates. The in house membranes are split between D4, with fibres encapsulated between two polyester films for boats from 25 to 100 feet, and the DFi filament membrane, made of pre impregnated filament tapes with no film and no taffeta.
Incidence Technologies presents itself as the only European producer of filament membranes and controls the full chain, from fibre to membrane, with its own impregnation lines and robotic deposition ensuring traceability and boat by boat customisation. Membranes are laminated under 7 bars. Numerical calculation combines panel code and RANS simulations for structural optimisation, shape refinement and the aerodynamic matrices used by racing teams and naval architects. Strong Luff technology replaces the luff cable with continuous filaments, for a wider operating range, less twist and weight saving.
