Sud Moteurs Services

Drawing on experience since 1994, Sud Moteurs Services is a marine workshop located at 2 boulevard des bassins de radoub in Marseille. The company combines marine spare parts sales, naval repair and diesel engine maintenance, for leisure boating, yachting and professional vessels. Additional bases in Toulon, La Ciotat, Brest, Réunion and Martinique complement the Marseille site, and the service area covers the south of France, from the Bouches-du-Rhône to the Pyrénées-Orientales.

On-site maintenance covers all-brand diesel engines and generator sets, marine transmissions, drives, inspection of injection systems and of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic engine controls. Also included are inspections of raw water and circulation pumps, heat exchangers (chemical and mechanical cleaning, pressure testing), turbochargers (cleaning, service kit, balancing), shaft lines and propellers (geometry, clearances, balancing), thrusters and waterjets, impellers, diffusers and hydraulic power packs, as well as shaft line sealing and fault code reading.

In the workshop, the company carries out engine and gearbox overhauls: full and partial services (cylinder heads, injection pumps, governors), complete rebuilds with replacement of cylinder blocks, crankshafts and timing gear, and the reconditioning of reduction gears and clutches. A test bench allows outputs of up to 1200 hp (900 kW) to be tested. Engine installation and repowering cover the complete fitting of engine, reduction gear, generator set, shaft line, propeller and nozzle, alignment checks and shaft realignment, and hybrid solutions.

Sud Moteurs Services is an official MAN distributor and an approved Reintjes and Schottel agent, and presents itself as a specialist in Caterpillar and Cummins propulsion. The workshop also works on Baudouin, Volvo Penta, Nanni Diesel, Hamilton Jet, John Deere and Kohler. Parts sales cover genuine MAN and Baudouin components, reconditioned injection pumps, heat exchangers and turbochargers, used parts as well as filters and consumables.
