Sud Rigging is a rigging workshop based in Marseille, founded by Gilles Perez, a master rigger. His background is detailed on the site: experience in Australia on motoryachts from 40 to 90 feet, then training with Rogi, master rigger at the La Ciotat shipyard, working on super yachts and on Whitbread and Volvo Ocean Race campaigns. The workshop travels along the coastline and states that it works in Marseille, Cassis, La Ciotat, Toulon, Hyères, Saint-Tropez, Cannes, Nice, Monaco, Sète and as far as Perpignan, on every type of modern or traditional sailing yacht as well as on motor yachts.

The mast and rigging side covers wire swaging and standing rigging work, with advice on the choice of Dyform, extra-flexible or monostrand stainless steel wire and on terminals, according to a racing, cruising or offshore programme. Periodic inspection covers the mast and its fittings, the boom, the standing rigging and the running rigging, and results in a full report supported by photographs. Stepping and unstepping are handled from start to finish: removal and refitting of deck hardware, dye penetrant testing of critical parts, sea trials and logbook updating. Winch and block servicing follows manufacturer recommendations, along with maintenance of hydraulic rams for runners and tensioners.

Ropework is the other main speciality, with hand-made and certified items: Dyneema or Technora loops, textile shackles, covered, uncovered or multi-leg slings, textile crane cables, splices, halyards and sheets in polyester or Dyneema. Impregnation protects lines from UV, salt and abrasion, and leatherwork preserves blocks, tillers and mooring lines. The maritime range brings together mooring lines, stretchers, snubbers, stoppers and towing lines for superyachts and commercial vessels, alongside a dedicated industrial range and an online shop.

Sud Rigging works with well-known suppliers: Cousin Trestec, Stalok, Tylaska, Selden, Wichard, Harken and Antal. Lines and assemblies are made to measure, with length, diameter, material and breaking load defined together with the client.
