The Crew Network Antibes

The Crew Network Antibes is the French office of The Crew Network, an international yacht crew placement agency. Established in 1999, it is located at 12 avenue Pasteur, a five-minute walk from Port Vauban and the train station, in the Riviera's leading crew hub. The office welcomes walk-in visitors Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and the local team works in English, French, Russian and Estonian. The network was founded in 1988 by Norma Trease, a superyacht chef, and operates from four offices: Fort Lauderdale, Antibes, Palma and Viareggio.

Recruitment covers every department on board, from deckhands to master mariners, including the engine room and interior, on yachts ranging from 24 metres to over 216 metres. Specialist positions are also handled, such as water sports instructors, security personnel, nannies and medical staff. The network recruits for around 2,100 positions each year and offers permanent, seasonal, rotational and temporary placements.

For owners, captains and management companies, the agency handles the full recruitment cycle: in-depth interviews and candidate profiling, reference checks and background screening, pre-filtered shortlists before presentation, then placement guarantees. The Antibes office works as a walk-in agency where clients can meet and interview vetted crew in person. The network developed its own databases and software tools early on, and highlights its use of statistics and profiling to refine the match between role and candidate.

Crew have access to published vacancies and to a set of career resources: an overview of yachting roles from deckhand up to captain, salary benchmarks by position and vessel size, advice on gaining first experience, interview preparation, a frequently asked questions section and guidance on training. In line with MLC 2006 Regulation 1.4, recruitment and placement services are provided to candidates at no charge.

The Crew Network is part of the Fraser group, a full service brokerage house, which places the crew agency alongside yacht sales and purchase, new construction and refit, yacht management, project management, charter management and luxury yacht vacations. The agency states that it is fully MLC 2006 compliant and that it works with the sector's reference bodies, including the ILO, the MCA, the PYA, the USCG, the IMO and DNV.
