VPLP Design is a naval architecture office founded in 1983, with offices in Vannes, Paris and Nantes bringing together more than thirty staff according to its official site. The firm claims design credit for the trimaran Sport Elec (winner of the Jules Verne Trophy, 1997), the America's Cup trimaran USA 17 (BMW Oracle, 2010), the yacht Macif (winner of the 2013 Vendee Globe) and the catamaran Hemisphere, presented as the largest sailing catamaran in the world at its 2011 launch.
