YPI CREW is a crew recruitment agency dedicated to superyachting, based in Antibes and active since 2002. A member of the Schulte Group, it works internationally with yachts, their owners and their management companies. It describes its mission as building united, high-performing crews able to deliver the very best experience on board.
Recruitment covers every department on board. On deck: captain, chief officer, officers at all levels, bosun and deckhand. In the engine room: chief engineer, engineers, electro-technical officer and AV/IT officer. In the galley: head chef and sous chef. Interior: purser, chief steward or stewardess, head of service, head of housekeeping, stewards and stewardesses. Specialist positions are also covered: nurse, spa manager, spa therapist, personal trainer and hairdresser. Recruiters specialised by department follow each family of roles.
For owners, captains and managers, YPI CREW handles the full process, from selecting a short group of suitable, available and genuinely interested candidates to the final job offer. Recruiters advise on fair salary levels, perks and market trends, and assist with contract negotiations.
For candidates, the agency publishes its vacancies online and provides extensive resources: guides to starting out as junior deck or interior crew, role descriptions, CV templates, interview advice, information on mandatory certificates and medical requirements, a B1 and B2 visa guide, a salary guide and an FAQ section. A dedicated programme supports Royal Navy marine engineers moving into superyachting, with one-to-one guidance, information on MCA licence equivalences, CV review and interview preparation.
On the regulatory side, YPI CREW is listed on the French National Register for seafarer recruitment and placement services and undergoes a yearly voluntary audit by Lloyd's Register confirming its MLC 2006 compliance, under statement MSL 2200027. In line with Regulation 1.4, no fees are charged to seafarers. The agency contacts crew no later than 72 hours after they arrive on board, has held insurance with ITIC Europe since December 2024 protecting seafarers against monetary losses, and publishes a complaints procedure.
