Yacht Haven Grande

Charlotte Amalie, Saint Thomas, VI

The port

Megayacht marina in Charlotte Amalie harbor, St. Thomas (US Virgin Islands), rebuilt in 2007 as Island Global Yachting's (IGY) very first project and now one of the Caribbean's benchmark superyacht destinations.

Yacht Haven Grande stands on the site of an earlier marina severely damaged by Hurricane Hugo in 1989 and then Hurricane Marilyn in 1995. Its rebuild, which opened in 2007, was Island Global Yachting's (IGY) very first project, with its chairman voicing the ambition to turn the marina into the center of yachting culture in the Caribbean. The adjoining retail village was deliberately designed in the local colonial style, a blend of French, English and Dutch influences. The marina offers 46 berths, all dedicated to megayachts, for vessels up to 200 metres (656 feet) with a maximum draft of 7.6 metres and no beam restriction. High-speed fuel and potable water are available at every slip, and on-site US Customs and Immigration handle clearance directly. Yacht Haven Grande hosts the USVI Charter Yacht Show every November, one of the Caribbean's leading charter industry events.
