Social and events club of the Casa de Campo resort and residential complex, open only to property owners within the estate (membership requires sponsorship by two active members and committee approval). Led as commodore by the marina's architect Gianfranco Fini, it co-organized the 2010 Rolex Farr 40 World Championship with the Farr 40 Class Association, the first edition of that competition held in the Caribbean. The club holds reciprocal agreements with six international yacht clubs and hosts the annual Casa de Campo International Blue Marlin Classic sport fishing tournament.

History

The Casa de Campo Yacht Club grew out of the success of the marina at the same resort, designed by Italian architect Gianfranco Fini to evoke Portofino. According to the resort's own website, the wave of success brought with it the realization of the need for a Yacht Club to highlight its prestige. Housed in a building with colonial-inspired architecture (open terraces, high wooden ceilings, mahogany details), the club operates as a private club limited to Casa de Campo property owners: membership requires owning property within the estate, being recommended by two active members to the committee, and then being approved by that committee. In April 2010, the Casa de Campo Yacht Club co-organized the Rolex Farr 40 World Championship with the Farr 40 Class Association, raced from 21 to 24 April and described by World Sailing as the first edition of that championship held in the Caribbean. Gianfranco Fini, the club's commodore and the marina's architect, called it the realization of a long-held dream. The club also hosts the annual Casa de Campo International Blue Marlin Classic sport fishing tournament, and holds reciprocal agreements with six international yacht clubs: Yacht Club Italiano, the Royal British Virgin Islands Yacht Club, Clube Naval de Cascais, Palm Beach Yacht Club, Yacht Club Porto Rotondo, and St. Maarten Yacht Club.
