Australia Fiji Rendezvous
Port Denarau Marina · Mid-August
Founded in 2019 by Superyacht Australia (the Australian marine industry association), the Australia Fiji Rendezvous brings together, every year at Port Denarau Marina (Denarau Yacht Club), Australian and Fijian superyacht owners and industry professionals. According to David Good, then CEO of Superyacht Australia, the event was modelled on the Australia Tahiti Rendezvous (run by the same association for several years) to promote Australia and Fiji as refit and stopover destinations for South Pacific superyachts, rather than Europe or the United States. The inaugural edition, on 23 August 2019, brought together 17 vessels for an expo, a captains' lunch, culinary competitions and networking. The 2026 edition (the 6th, per SeaKeepers South Pacific), held 12 to 14 August at Port Denarau Marina, again brought together Australian and Fijian marine industry representatives.\n\nMethodological note: no standalone official web page dedicated solely to this event was found (neither Superyacht Australia/Australian Marine nor Port Denarau Marina publish one) - the link to Port Denarau Marina rests on confirmation from the organiser s own official site (australianmarine.org, Superyacht Australia page, 18/08/2026 news item confirming the 2026 dates), cross checked against an independent trade source (SeaKeepers South Pacific, which explicitly places the 2026 edition at Port Denarau Marina) and against the 2024 precedent, also confirmed at Port Denarau Marina by Fiji Marinas (the marina operator). Nature of the event: a professional superyacht industry rendezvous (networking, familiarisation), not a public boat show or a race as such - classified as regate by analogy with other rallies/rendezvous already in the catalogue (ARC, All Points Rally), for lack of a finer category in the current vocabulary (salon/regate only). Open for Benjamin to reconsider if a finer distinction between race and professional rendezvous is wanted.
