Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show
Sanctuary Cove Marina · Late May
The Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show is held every May at Sanctuary Cove on Queensland's Gold Coast, Australia. It is owned and presented by Mulpha Events and runs over four days. Its official website quotes more than 40,000 visitors and describes the event as a gathering in, on and around the water.
According to the show's own history page, the Sanctuary Cove community was conceived in 1985 by developer Mike Gore, and the first annual on-water boat show was launched there in 1989. The event became the Sanctuary Cove International Boating Festival in 1992 and the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in 1996. The site cites the 2008 edition as a record, with 450 boats on the water, 600 on land, 453 exhibitors and 53,700 visitors over four days, and the 25th anniversary was marked in 2013. The show returned in 2021 after a break from the annual calendar.
The 2027 edition, the 38th, is announced for 20 to 23 May 2027, with exhibitor applications open. Sanctuary Cove Marina, which has 481 berths according to the marina's website, is in the same community; the show's website does not name the marina as an exhibition venue, so that link remains to be confirmed on the exhibitor page.
