Signature lunch and private tasting at The Landing vineyard

A private estate on the Purerua Peninsula, private boat arrival, a tasting and lunch matched to the wines, by appointment only.

On the Purerua Peninsula, at the entrance to the Bay of Islands, the private estate of The Landing occupies the site of Rangihoua Bay, where the Reverend Samuel Marsden came ashore in December 1814 to found New Zealand''s first Christian mission, close to the former Maori village of Te Puna, described in 1807 as the country''s capital according to the estate''s own history. Bought in 1999 by Peter Cooper from the Mountain family, who had held the land since the 19th century, the estate has since developed its own vineyard. The Landing Wines offers a signature lunch with private boat arrival, a vineyard tour and a meal matched to the wines, as well as a shorter tasting or a private helicopter arrival. Visits are by phone appointment only with the estate, never through online ticketing.
