The Bureau des Guides des Calanques brings together high mountain guides, mid-mountain leaders and climbing instructors, affiliated with the French National Union of Mountain Guides and based in Cassis, at the heart of the massif. Outings cover climbing school and multi-pitch routes at Cap Canaille, Port-Miou, En Vau, Sormiou, Morgiou and Callelongue, as well as hiking and via cordata. The bureau states that all of its outings can be arranged as private sessions, whether solo, with family or with colleagues.
One public regulation governs the summer period: from 1 June to 30 September, land access to the massifs is assessed daily by the prefectural services according to fire risk. At red level, land access to the national park is prohibited and the Route des Cretes closes. Autumn, winter and spring therefore offer the steadiest window for a shore outing.
