The port
New Caledonia's leading marina and official customs port of entry, in the heart of Noumea.
In the heart of Noumea, Port Moselle is New Caledonia's largest marina, with close to 700 wet berths spread across some fifteen pontoons, complemented by 90 dry-storage spots. A mandatory first stop for any pleasure vessel arriving from abroad, it is one of only two official customs ports of entry in the territory, alongside Port du Sud. The harbour office provides fuel, water and electricity, plus the usual services (showers, laundry, wifi). According to Wikipedia, the bay and the port take their name from the ship La Moselle, built in Bordeaux in 1848, which began service in Noumea in 1855 before having to be abandoned the following year due to severe structural damage.
