A hybrid structure (marina/hotel/private nautical lifestyle club) rather than a traditional sailing or racing club, it has nonetheless hosted several regattas and events with international reach: a Volvo Ocean Race stopover (2008-09), a Clipper Round the World Yacht Race stopover (2013-14), the Singapore Yacht Show (2011-2019) and the SB20 World Championships (2025).
History
On 29 September 2007, Singapore's Minister for Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang officially opened ONE°15 Marina Club in Sentosa Cove, describing it as capping "three years of development to build a world-class marina that is billed Asia's finest" (source: official speech, Singapore Ministry of Trade and Industry website). According to the same speech, demand was immediate: "As soon as some of the berths at ONE Degree15 were ready, a steady stream of multi-million dollar mega-yachts and luxury vessels passing through Singapore waters were lining up to secure a berth". Developed by the SUTL Enterprise group (which also operates the ONE°15 Charters fleet of more than 40 luxury yachts across Asia), the establishment combines a marina, a boutique hotel and a private membership club rather than functioning as a traditional sailing or racing club - a distinction FairWinds notes explicitly rather than presenting it as a classic yacht club. This hybrid nature has not stopped it from hosting major nautical events: a Volvo Ocean Race stopover in 2008-2009, a Clipper Round the World Yacht Race stopover in 2013-2014, the Singapore Yacht Show from 2011 to 2019, the Singapore Yachting Festival since 2023, and more recently the SB20 class World Championships in 2025 (source: one15marina.com/sentosa-cove/about-us/).
