History
The Societe Nautique de Saint-Tropez was born on 18 May 1899, in the wake of regattas organised by town captain Jean-Baptiste Sanmartin during the Bravade festival. Over a century later, it remains the organiser of Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez, one of the world's largest gatherings of classic and modern yachts, drawing hundreds of boats to the bay every year in late September. The club also runs the Giraglia (Loro Piana edition), the spring Bravades Regatta and the Trophee Bailli de Suffren. A further mark of its weight in French sailing: the SNST backs the French challenge Orient Express Racing Team for the 38th America's Cup, set for Naples in 2027 - an official entry at the highest level of sailing competition.
