Fort Sainte-Agathe and the lighthouse path, on foot

The 16th-century fort overlooking the village of Porquerolles can be visited freely, before continuing on the path leading to the lighthouse.

Fort Sainte-Agathe overlooks the village of Porquerolles and is reached on foot from the landing stage, with no road crossing since the island is closed to private cars. The self-guided visit, in season, takes about 45 minutes: a large vaulted hall and a summit terrace looking out over the village, the harbour and the vineyards. The fort is open Tuesday to Saturday during the summer season, with an entry ticket paid on site; it is not accessible to pushchairs or wheelchairs.

The outing continues naturally along the coastal path to the Porquerolles lighthouse, at the other end of the village, for a morning or late afternoon entirely on foot, with no professional or booking required.
