The port
110-berth marina at the heart of the five-star Sutera Harbour resort in Kota Kinabalu (Sabah, Malaysian Borneo) - an official port of entry and the only marina in the state equipped to host superyachts.
Built in 1998 within the Sutera Harbour resort complex, facing the South China Sea and Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park, the marina occupies a basin sheltered by a breakwater, at the foot of two five-star hotels and a 27-hole golf course designed by Graham Marsh. It has 110 berths, including dedicated superyacht slots, with fuel (diesel, petrol), water and electricity at each berth. An official port of entry for Sabah (CIQP clearance on site), it is a member of the Asia Pacific Superyacht Association and remains the only marina in the state equipped to host large yachts. According to Cruising World magazine, it has built a word-of-mouth reputation among cruisers over the years as a comfortable base for exploring Borneo.
