Guides06 brings together high mountain guides and qualified leaders holding the French state diploma, members of the International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations. The office is based at Saint-Martin-Vesubie, at the foot of the Mercantour, an hour and a half by road from Nice. Outings are privately guided, individually or in very small groups, and the level is set to match the participants.
The range covers hiking and snowshoeing, rock climbing, alpinism, ski touring and ice climbing according to the season. This is one of the few places in Europe where one moves from the coastline to a high mountain range within the same morning, through valleys that stay quiet outside the summer months. The guide settles the route at the last moment, according to the conditions of the day.
