At the top of Le Suquet, the oldest quarter of Cannes, Place de la Castre and the inner courtyard of the Museum of World Explorations sit within the walls of a former monastic castle listed as a historic monument. The view takes in the bay, the Croisette and the Lerins islands. The museum, a designated Musee de France, holds Mediterranean archaeology, ethnology and tribal art collections along with a set of musical instruments from around the world; the medieval tower opens onto the whole city.
The City of Cannes lists both spaces among its prestige venues and allows them to be used for private or professional events. A tailored site visit and the site plans are provided on request by the department in charge. The whole is reached on foot from the Vieux-Port quays, through the lanes of Le Suquet.
