Saint-Honorat has been home to a monastic community since the fifth century, one that still farms its own seaside vineyard. The monks produce whites and reds vinified on the island, named after the saints of Lerins: Saint Pierre and Saint Cesaire in white, Saint Honorat, Saint Sauveur and Saint Salonius in red. Everything sits on a car-free island of pines, chapels and a fortified monastery.
The abbey's hospitality team arranges tastings for groups at the foot of the vines, with a sommelier's commentary, across several levels ranging from an introduction to the estate's finest cuvees. It also offers guided walks led by friends of the community trained and supervised by the monks, and the private use of an equipped meeting room. Arrangements are made directly with the abbey's own team.
