The Exotic Garden occupies a south-facing cliff a few minutes from the quays. Its walkways wind between footbridges, vaults and suspended paths, among succulents some of which are more than a century old. The site is run by the Mairie de Monaco, which governs private hire of its grounds by municipal decree, in two main forms: hire for a cocktail reception, and a seated dinner reception. The panorama runs from the Principality to the French and Italian coasts.
The estate also includes the Observatory Cave, a natural cavity visited with a guide, together with the Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology and a botanical centre. The garden operates all year, on seasonal opening ranges. The climb from the port takes only minutes, which makes for a short shore call from a Monaco berth.
