The port
Sheltered from the mistral in the heart of Toulon's roadstead, the marina of La Seyne-sur-Mer offers 300 berths and 70 visitor spaces, right in the town centre.
The marina of La Seyne-sur-Mer occupies a central position in town, on the western side of Toulon's roadstead, sheltered from the mistral wind. It faces the naval arsenal and shipyards of Toulon across the bay and sits within easy reach of every shop in the town centre.
The marina offers 300 berths and 70 visitor spaces for boats up to 14 metres, with a draft of 4.5 metres. Pontoons are equipped with showers, free Wi-Fi, 220V power points and water connections, along with grey, black and bilge water pump-out and a 5-tonne crane. The harbour office on Quai de la Marine welcomes crews Monday to Friday.
The marina sits at the foot of La Seyne-sur-Mer's town centre, a short walk from the shops and close to Les Sablettes beach and Fort Balaguier, which closes off the Toulon roadstead. The town is easy to explore on foot straight from the pontoons.
La Seyne-sur-Mer long lived to the rhythm of the Forges et Chantiers de la Méditerranée shipyards, which built nearly 1,944 hulls between 1856 and 1985, from Suez Canal dredgers to luxury liners, employing up to 2,000 workers. The lifting bridge, built in 1917 by the Gustave Eiffel company, and the Porte des Chantiers gate are the last visible traces of this industrial history, now preserved along the nearby Naval Park.
