The port
A reference marina for large yachts in northeast Phuket, Thailand, hosting vessels over 100 metres according to its operator.
Opened in 1996-1997 in the Thalang district, in northeast Phuket, Phuket Yacht Haven has grown through successive expansions (most recently in 2023, with 18 new pontoons for large yachts) to become a reference marina in Southeast Asia for high-end yachting, with an advertised capacity of over 100 metres. According to the marina's own published history, its first boating community formed in 1999 around a Blue Water Rally stopover and an on-site party. An independent industry guide describes it as the island's only marina with 24-hour access, unaffected by tidal constraints, unlike some other Phuket marinas. Customs and immigration formalities for a foreign vessel are not handled on site: they are centralised at the yacht control centre of the Ao Chalong harbour office, in the south of the island.
